  • AboutMy name is Barry Cooper. I’m an author and speaker who writes for Christianity Explored ministries. I was born and raised in Epsom, Surrey. Originally, I wanted to be an astronaut. But I was asthmatic, and wasn’t sure if they’d let me take my inhaler into space. After studying English Language and Literature at St Catherine’s College, Oxford, I trained as an actor at Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art, and appeared on stage in various places, including Shakespeare’s Globe and the National Theatre. I also co-ran a theatre company for seven years. My church for the last 14 years has been All Souls, Langham Place. In May 2010, I completed an MA in Christian Studies at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Chicago, and am now living in London again. As well as speaking, I write books, curricula and – increasingly – scripts. I’d love to hear from you. Send me a message, friend me on Facebook or follow me on Twitter.

  • Why Christ May Not Be Not Enough For You

I’ve been reading Edward T. Welch’s When People Are Big And God Is Small. In it, he says this: We know that we are created to live in relationship with other people, and in these relationships we are to love, encourage, and comfort each other, but is the purpose of these relationships to bolster our self-esteem? — read more

  • It’s Got To Be…

One of the tensions I’ve long battled with is the outer demand to get things done versus the inner desire to get things right. Sometimes the latter has been so strong in me that I’ve ended up doing absolutely nothing. — read more
